November 23 to 30, 2007

Holland America - Oosterdam - Mexican Riviera

  • Details are sketchy, but we were at Mazatlan (26th), Cabo San Lucas (25th), and Puerto Vallarta (27th)

  • 23 Depart San Diego - Our flight was changed and we were not notified by email (this was back when there were no apps or smartphones), so they flew us to LAX and took us by van to the port of San Diego.

  • 24 Day at sea - Kitchen tour

  • 25 Cabo San Lucas - Walked around the port and had an excellent lunch at Los Deseos

  • 26 Mazatlan - Rented a Taxi and had a tour of Mazatlan and went to a beach for a couple of hours

  • 27 Puerto Vallarta - Scooters were rented in Porto Vallarta; there were rough cobblestone roads, sort of got lost, but not really, we just had to make a long detour back

  • 28 Day at sea

  • 29 Day at sea

  • 30 Off ship

  • Was the first cruise we splurged on a suite

  • Some new jewelry was purchased

  • Generally had an excellent time

Royal Caribbean - Monarch of the Seas - Bunko Cruise out of Long Beach

  • Details are sketchy, but we were at the ports of San Diego, Catalina Island, and Ensenada.

  • Bunko was played at some point

  • This is the cruise where I learned to stick with the crowd in Mexico, and not go exploring on my own.

Carnival Cruise out of New Orleans - Our First Cruise - For Brenda's 40th birthday, she didn't want to be in the continental US, so a cruise to Mexico fit the bill.

  • Started with 3 days in New Orleans, and had a great time there.  Brenda: "How nice it is that we're going to end our wonderful vacation with a cruise."

  • We were at the ports of Playa del Carmen and Cozumel.

  • I think we did an excursion, but I'm not sure.
