30 Days in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

When you want a re-do and a week isn't enough

  • Arrived in San Miguel de Allende via IAH then BJX 

  • Checked in to Air B & B

  • Found an excellent coffee/breakfast spot (Cumpanio) a 2 minute walk away from the house (this became my daily morning walk/email station)

  • Set out on our own "wandering tour"...an unguided walking exploration of mostly familiar streets and locations

  • Fine dinner at Aperi

  • Today was a guided walking, eating, and drinking tour.  Our guide was the same one we had during 2017's Cook in Mexico trip, so some repeats, but all of it very cool

  • Walked to the market and picked up a few things

  • Found a place playing the Olympics - Hank's - good food and very popular

  • Morning walk to the square

  • Then in the afternoon we had first snack at a cute patio lunch place

  • Then second snack at Luna Tapas Bar at the Rosewood Hotel

  • Went to La Parada for third snack

  • I know what you're thinking, but there was lot's of walking in between!!!

  • Had breakfast at our little coffee shop

  • Watched the guys fill the propane tank on someone's roof

  • Ate soup and salad for dinner later

  • Morning coffee

  • Those annoying loud motorcycle guys had their bike impounded

  • Lunch at Tio Lucas 

  • Walked around looking at doors

  • Morning coffee, somewhere new it appears

  • Great morning walk, lots of cool doors

  • Juárez Park - Plant sale

  • Instituto Allende

  • Cocktails again at the Luna Tapas Bar

  • We knew today would be special...cooking with Marilau did not disappoint!

  • We made rice with peas, and sauce over chicken, and I think soup...It's much more interesting when Brenda tells the story...for instance, she'll tell you how and why we deep fried the rice before cooking it...very delicious!!!

  • Had a great (and very long and sometimes a tiny bit scary because we didn't really know where we were) walk home

  • Valentines day - so there were flowers, and fine dining

  • Not a lot of pictures, but I recall but we had lunch somewhere

  • As I recall, Brenda went shopping and I went home to work, but someone broke down in front of our door...i had to climb over his car to get it...eventually a tow truck arrived
